General Responsibilities:

This position entails, but is not limited to:

  • An individual who will work closely with developers and project managers to verify the user interface and functionality of websites;
  • Conceptualize and execute the creation of innovative customized websites and solutions to meet the demands of our non-profit clients;
  • Ability to present creative concepts and ideas to internal team members and to clients;
  • A self-motivated individual who will enjoy a team-oriented environment where work can be fast-paced and requirements can change frequently;
  • Ability to evolve and stay current on modern trends in design;
  • High degree of creativity, sensitivity to user experience design and problem solving ability;
  • Ability to participate in and lead project discoveries.

Skills

If you answer yes to all of the following, we can't wait for you to apply:

  • 1-5 years of experience in the web design or UX/UI field;
  • Bachelor degree or college diploma in a field related to design or UX/UI design;
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.0 / accessibility an asset;
  • Proficiency in software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator;
  • Proficiency in prototyping software such as Invision an asset but not required;
  • Understands the difference between various display sizes (e.g., mobile, desktop, tablets) and is comfortable designing for each one;
  • Experience in designing for Luminate Online an asset but not required;
  • Ability to communicate rationale for design decisions to a non-technical audience and willing to teach and to learn;
  • Good communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills;
  • Analytical, self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

Digital Services Consultant

hjc invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Digital Services Consultant.

The position of Digital Services Consultant is a multi-dimensional role working on hjc’s Digital Services Team. As a full service agency specializing in online for non-profits, hjc’s Digital Services team is responsible for the strategy and tactical implementations of digital projects including but not limited to: online fundraising software, Email Marketing Systems, Customer Relationship Management software, website development, Fundraising Campaigns, and other online tools.

The Digital Service Consultant acts as the bridge between the client and the hjc creative team. This role is responsible for both client relationships and project management. Details of the position are below.

We are looking for:

  • An individual with robust knowledge of online fundraising platforms (such as Luminate, Engaging Networks, Kimbia, Frontstream etc)
  • An individual with strong project management skills
  • Fundraising knowledge is an asset

Responsibilities:

This position entails, but is not limited to:

  • Implementing and/or ongoing use of Blackbaud (Convio) Luminate Online and TeamRaiser
  • Creation of website, webpages, donation forms and other web properties
  • Lead the strategy, concept development, project planning and timelines on digital projects, with particular focus on Luminate Online
  • Ensuring that all projects are executed flawlessly through management of internal team, company resources and processes, assuming responsible for management project from vetting of client requests/briefs and development of creative briefs, to delivery of projects, including relevant information is shared across all disciplines
  • Manipulates digital platforms for day-to-day program management of client accounts (however this role does not involve web development)
  • Develop expertise on a range of non-profit online fundraising software such as Luminate Online, Engaging Networks, Frontstream, Salesforce etc.
  • Reporting and data analysis
  • Ensuring all work is executed to the highest level of quality – on time and on budget.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client confidence, rapport and relationships
  • Monitoring campaign performance, developing campaign tracking, analysis, reporting and measurement
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to consult on online tool best practices as needed

Qualifications:

Skill Requirements

  • Strong project and account management skills
  • High comfort level with web content creation and familiarity with basic web development concepts
  • General online marketing knowledge (social media, online marketing/PR, content development- video production, email)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superb team building skills and creative problem solving abilities
  • Project and team leadership skills (from concept to post-campaign analysis)
  • High organizational capacity and ability to manage client expectations
  • Must be a regular and comfortable user of the internet, online social networks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Industry + Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of digital marketing practices and principles
  • Understanding of fundraising methodology and principles is an asset
  • Expertise in non-profit online fundraising and CRM software, such as Blackbaud (Convio) Luminate Online and TeamRaiser, Artez, Engaging Networks, Raiser’s Edge, AKA Raisin would be an asset
  • Expertise with online email platforms such as Constant Contact, Mail Chimp or other platforms would be an asset.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, web usability, Google Analytics and web management (note however that this role does not involve web development)

Experience and Education

  • Post-secondary degree
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in fundraising or online marketing in an agency or in house role

  • Occasional travel may be required
