Jump In - A Virtual P2P Fundraising Event
"We’re delighted by the results Jump In has achieved. All our objectives were met and all goals exceeded our aim. We couldn’t be happier at the results the team at hjc have brought and continue to bring!”

The Challenge
Develop a virtual P2P Fundraising Event to replace a key annual fundraising event cancelled due to COVID-19.
Our Approach
Normally, UOHIF hosts an annual women’s golfing fundraising event. But due to COVID-19, an in-person event was no longer an option. So, they approached hjc to develop a virtual activity-based fundraiser that targeted a niche audience of tech-savvy fitness enthusiasts.
UOHIF’s goals and objectives:
Raise the same amount their annual women’s golfing fundraising event did on average
Educate and spread awareness of women's heart health issues
Generate new leads
UOHIF requested a platform that would process a registration fee for all participants and keep the option open for participants to participate in peer-to-peer fundraising. UOHIF and hjc collaborated and decided to create an event that required participants to be active for 30 days from Sept 1st to Sept 30th. To meet the parameters set by UOHIF, hjc created a combination of two common events – a ticketed event and a TeamRaiser:
The Ticketed Event included a 2-click registration that made participants a part of the event, with the registration fee collected going towards women’s heart initiatives;
while the TeamRaiser portion of the event provided a fully functional peer-to-peer fundraising platform that facilitated donations on behalf of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute
The Result
UOHIF employed social ads, social influencer marketing and email communication to market the event, resulting in their goal being raised within the first 10 days of the campaign.
The total amount of money raised was over $190,000. The event has exceeded their goal by more than 50% and has effectively spread awareness of women's heart health issues.
Additionally, this has created an opportunity for hjc to begin sending a welcome series of emails to participants, generating leads and potentially securing new monthly donors for UOHIF.

Tracking Infrastructure Development
Tracking Infrastructure Development
“The tracking infrastructure hjc developed for us has been an invaluable resource for the San Diego Humane Society. Through it, we’re able to guide our campaigns with much greater accuracy that will garner even better results.”
Client
San Diego Humane Society
The Challenge
Within 8 weeks, create a tracking infrastructure for all constituent data and activity.
Our Approach
San Diego Humane requested hjc’s services in creating a transparent digital infrastructure that tracks all constituent data and activity.
The objectives of the infrastructure were to:
Link donation data (made through Luminate) with Google Analytics to understand the demographics, geographics and the sources of all past, present, and future donations
Measure the performance of each campaign and online form and improve the results
Utilize Google Tag Manager to configure the tracking infrastructure for Google Ads and Facebook
The project was to be completed within 8 weeks.
The Result
Hjc configured the tracking infrastructure as planned and on time. Through this resource, San Diego Human can now observe donations based on demographic and geographic distribution and by source or medium. Each campaign and form can be evaluated based on their donation performance or other predefined metrics.
All the data is presented through a user-friendly Google Data Studio dashboard. For San Diego Humane, the performance of all their campaigns on Google and Facebook can now be evaluated by tracking the value of donations, creating a valuable resource for future success.

Reconfigurable Raffle Form
“Hjc’s work in updating our annual car raffle has made a monumental improvement in our end-of-year fundraising. Through it, we’re now able to collect online donations—which is crucial during this global pandemic—and further develop potential stewardships. It’s amazing to see our raffle continue its success while allowing our constituents to donate right from the comfort of their own homes!”

Raffle Ticket Sales in Luminate Online
Client
Cedars Cancer Foundation
The Challenge
Develop a bilingual, online system to sell raffle tickets while keeping data within Luminate Online
The Result
Cedars Cancer Foundation was more than pleased with their new event offering, pulling in $79,050 in its first year and $397,450 in subsequent raffles!
Using a custom donation form (Luminate Online) with additional JavaScript, users were able to enjoy a seamless transaction experience that updated them on available discounts, walked them through the purchasing process step-by-step, and was in both French and English.
The form allowed the foundation staff to track inventory, ticket purchases, and donor information, which created an efficient system to not only analyze event success but also create future stewardship opportunities!
Additionally, the form was built to be easily repurposed and utilized for future events, making it all the more useful for Cedars Cancer Foundation’s future fundraising endeavors.

Uncovering larger gifts and building pipelines
Hand in hand with emails, social, and direct mail, hjc also works with PCRF to leverage digital survey work (and other data analysis) to build highly efficient larger gift pipelines.
One month ago, hjc sent out a digital survey (improved since our first survey for Sick Kids 14 years ago) that uncovered the following:
127 people who self-identified to give a major gift
19 new charitable annuities
18 new bequests
48 people who want to give a major gift AND planned gift
There were also small numbers of individuals who want to do even more! We similarly did the same for a Denver-based hospital in the last month and found an even larger pool of larger gift prospect and we’re helping build the KPIs and plan for a multi channel and high touch approach.

We did so by creating:
Unique donation forms dependent on giving choice in Luminate Online
Stories and pictures on each form that match the donor choice
The ability to capture their interest level immediately.
The Result
Year Over Year Holiday Giving online increased by 342%.
