PROJECT
Logo and Website Redesign
Client
The Gainsborough, Retirement Community in London, Ontario
The Objective
- Create a new logo that reflects the community’s heritage and high standards while giving it a modern, elegant feel.
- Redesign the website to make it mobile-friendly, visually appealing, and easy to navigate.
- Improve user experience for potential residents and their families, making key information easily accessible and the website more engaging.
The Challenge
The Gainsborough’s previous website was built using outdated HTML and Flash, making it not only visually unappealing but also incompatible with modern devices and browsers. Additionally, the old website lacked a cohesive branding and had limited functionality, offering a poor user experience. The community needed a new logo and website that reflected its high standards, with a design that was responsive, easy to navigate, and showcased their services effectively.
Our Approach
- Logo Design:
We created a Romanesque-inspired logo to reflect sophistication and tradition. The design balanced timeless elegance with a modern touch, ensuring the logo appealed to both the community’s history and its forward-looking approach. - Color Palette and Branding:
A fresh color palette was developed to evoke warmth and professionalism, ensuring the website felt welcoming while also maintaining the high standards of the community. These colors were incorporated throughout the website, providing a cohesive brand identity. - Website Redesign:
We transitioned from the outdated Flash-based website to a modern, mobile-responsive, one-page design using a theme from Execulink. Key steps in the process included:- Developing a clear sitemap for efficient content flow and layout.
- Incorporating high-quality images to visually highlight the community’s living spaces and amenities.
- Optimizing for mobile responsiveness, ensuring the site looked great and functioned seamlessly across all devices.
- Ensuring intuitive navigation with easy access to essential information such as services, amenities, and contact details.
- SSL Integration:
To enhance security and boost the site’s SEO, we assisted in integrating an SSL
certificate, providing users with a secure browsing experience and improving overall trust in the website.
The Result
The Gainsborough Retirement Community was extremely pleased with the final product.
- Improved User Experience: The mobile-responsive, one-page layout made it easier for potential residents and families to find information quickly.
- Enhanced Brand Identity: The refreshed logo and cohesive color palette helped establish a more professional and modern online presence.
- Increased Engagement: The simplified navigation and clear calls to action (e.g., “Contact Us” form) led to higher engagement and interest in the community.
- Positive Reception: The client was hopeful the new site would attract more visitors and increase inquiries, which was a key goal of the redesign.
